Lake Sagami Information (JP)
I am always looking for some good places to take photos with classical lens,
and I visited Lake Sagami which is located in Kanagawa Pref. This lake has
an old style lake-side town and huge pleasure boats which are also very
classical and nostalgic.
Not only the atmosphere of the city, but I also use classical lens named
"Asahi Super Takumar 50mm F1.4". This lens was first on sale in 60s, so as
you can find above, the lens is coloured in yellow! Digital cameras can
automatically adjust the white balance so you can use this lens without any
issues, but I canceled the auto-adjustment to use this feature of this lens
and make my photos more "nostalgic".

Lake Sagami Information (JP)
The Lake Sagami is not so large, but you can enjoy the motor boats or swan
boats to move around the lake and fishing. There are two huge pleasure boats
shaped a swan and a whale. I like taking photos of the huge boats, but
getting on the boat in the hot summer air should be very good.
After enjoying the lake activities, you can also enjoy a lake-side amusement
arcade. Most of games are for kids, but shooting games and pinball games are
good for adults as well. Every single game in this arcade is old and I
played them a lot when I was a kid.
If you are a collector of something, I recommend you to collect "dam cards".
You can get the cards by visiting dams owned by Japan's/regional government,
and the cards have photos of dams and brief explanation of the dam. Plus,
some dams offer "dam curry" that looks lake (curry) and dam (rice).
Actually, I also recommend you to visit Lake Sagami in autumn. Mountains
around the lake is coloured in red or yellow, and the huge swan boat
surrounded in the autumn mountains is very beautiful.
Moving around outside is restricted due to COVID-19 in 2020 summer, but
walking around lake side feels very good. Lake Sagami is not so crowded
while it does not take so much of time to visit from Tokyo or Yokohama. I
went there by motorbike, and the mountains route is good for touring. If you
are looking for the place to go out, why don't you visit the lake side like
Lake Sagami?
